What we Believe

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. (John 14:6)

We Believe

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. (John 16:4)

  1. That the words of the Bible were inspired by God.

  2. That there is one God eternally existing in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  3. That Jesus is the beloved and unique Son of the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit, died, was buried and was raised from the dead.

  4. He ascended into heaven and is at the right hand of the Father as our Intercessor.

  5. That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.

  6. That right relationship, renewal and the new birth come through faith in the blood of Christ, through the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit.

  7. That a life of purity is God’s standard of living for His people.

  8. In the baptism of the Holy Spirit subsequent to a clean heart. In speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

  9. In water baptism by immersion and that all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

  10. That through his sacrificial death Christ has provided healing for all.

  11. In the Lord’s Supper and the washing of the feet of believers in Christ.

  12. In the second coming of Jesus before the thousand years: First to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second to reign on earth a thousand years. In the bodily resurrection to eternal life for the righteous.

Core Values

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. (Romans 8:14)

1. God’s Fatherhood: We believe God is the Creator of all nations and, as bearer of his image (Gen 1:26), every human person is of infinite value and must be treated with respect and unconditional positive regard.

2. Christ’s Lordship: We acknowledge Christ alone as Lord of the Church and Savior of mankind (Eph 5:23).

3. The Spirit’s Power: We believe in the freedom, power and gifts of the Holy Spirit to operate, empower, enlighten, and perform miracles (1 Cor 12: 4-11).

4. The Bible’s Authority: We accept the Bible as God’s Word and source of what we believe and the standard by which we live (2 Tim 3:16).

5. The Church: We recognize the church as a family comprised of all who accept Christ as Savior.

6. At Hope International, our worship reflects our international constituency, is inspired by the Spirit, and our preaching and teaching informed by the Word. Prayer is at the core of all we do. We seek to equip all believers to be effective in accomplishing their call and work of ministry.

7. The World: We affirm that all are lost without Christ (Rom 3:23; 6:23). In serving locally and reaching globally, our aim is to bring the unsaved to Christ and help form believers in the image and stature of Christ (Eph 4: 11-13).

Philosophy in Ministry

... In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)

  1. All humans are made in the image of God and must be treated with respect and positive regard.

  2. The environment and conditions must be created so that people can grow spiritually, socially, intellectually and emotionally.

  3. An effective ministry must seek to develop all aspects of the person’s being and must respond to needs that arise in the process of development.

  4. A strong spiritual ministry is the foundation for helping people develop in all dimensions. Without this foundation, no proper development can take place.

  5. The eventual goal of ministry is to help our people develop into the fullness of the image of Jesus Christ and in their giftings, to be able to respond appropriately to the Holy Spirit in all matters of life, revere God throughout life, and reach the lost for Christ.

  6. Ministry must develop people through the various stages of life and equip them to face all of life’s issues and challenges and maintain their Christian testimony.
